MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under:— THURSDAY, APRIL 29. For Australian colonies, per express train (to connect with s.s. Tararua at Port Chalmers), at 7.30 a.m. For Akaroa and Dunedin, per Hawea, at 11.15 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.25 a.m.; guard’s van, 12.10 p.m. train. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Eingarooma. at 3.15 p.m. ; late fee letters, 3.25 p.m.; guard’s van, 3.55 p.m. train. FEIDAY, APRIL 30. For Northern Ports of New Zealand and Australian Colonies, via Sydney, per Wakatipn, at 3.15p.m.; late fee letters, 3.25 p.m.; guard’s van, 3.55 p.m. train. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi (for specially addressed correspondence only), will be closed at Christchurch on May 6th, and will bo due in London on June 26th. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will bo closed at Christchurch on May 22nd, and will bo due in London on July 6th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
