Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under WEDNESDAY, APEIL 28. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Penguin at 3.15 p.m. ; late fee letters, 3.25 p.m.; guard’s van, 3 55 p.m. train. THURSDAY, APRIL 29. For Australian colonies, per express train (to connect with s.s. Tararua at Port Chalmers), at 7.30 a.m. For Akaroa, per Hawea, at 11.15 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.25 a.m.; guard’s van, 12.10 p.m. train. For Northern Ports of Now Zealand, per Eingarooma. at 3.15 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.25 p.m.; guard’s van, 3.55 p.m. train. FRIDAY, APEIL 30. For Northern Porta of New Zealand and Australian Colonies, via Sydney, per Wakatipu, at 3.15 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.25 p.m.; guard’s van, 3.55 p.m. train. The next mail for the United- Kingdom, via Brindisi (for specially addressed correspondence only), will be closed at Christchurch on May 6th, and will be due in London on June 26th. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on May 23nd, and will be due in London on July 6th. , SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
