MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following planes (subject to the necessary alterations) as under:— WEDNESDAY, APRIL 28. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Penguin (to connect with b.s. Tararua at Port Chalmers) at 1.50 p.m. ; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m. ; guard's van, 2 40 p.m. train. THURSDAY, APRIL 29. For Australian colonies, per express train (to connect with s.s. Tararua at Port Chalmers), at 7.30 am. For Alraroa, per Hawea. For Northern Ports, per Ringarooma, at 3.15 p.m.; late fen letters, 3.25 p.m.; guard's van, 3.55 p.m. train. FRIDAY, APRIL 30. For Northern Ports of New Zealand and Australian Colonies, via Sydney, per Wakatipu. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi (for specially addressed correspondence only), will bo closed at Christchurch on May Cth, and will bo due in London on June 26th. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on May 22nd, and will be due in London on July 6th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
