BROWN’S GREAT SCORE.

Had it been necessary, all agree Weston could have gone 560 or more miles in 142 consecutive hours. In the contest for tho chamnion bolt of England, which took place in London recently, Blower Brown beat Weston’s great record by throe miles. He was cheered to the echo when the score of 553 miles was put up. Brown’s previous record was 541 miles. He came to ZSTew York last Fall, and cut euch a poor figure in the race for the O’Leary Belt that the majority of people thought him a broken down man. He either did not try then to win, or ha has recuperated to a wonderful degree. After Weston settles his little dispute in 3.vn Francisco with O’Leary, it will be in orler for him and Brown to face each other again. If Rowell should make a big score iu the forthcoming contest for tho Astley Belt, April sfch, he very naturally will become the third party in the struggle for the greatest record. Hazaol and Day xnado a poor show in the race last week, the firstnansd covering 4SO miles and the secondnamed 456 miles.
