SOUTH CANTERBURY COURSING CLUB.
A committee meeting of the above club was held in Tombs’ Hotel, Temuka, on Wednesday evening last. Present—Mr Hamersley chairman, Messrs McLean, Dr. Hayes, Thomson, Wilson, and Bilton, Resolved—“ That the secretary write to Mr Studholme, informing him that the club will take advantage of his kind permission to course on his estate, by holding their first meeting there on May 26th.” Resolved —“That the All-aged Stakes advertised to be run for on the 14th April, bo run on the ssme day as the Puppy Stakes at Waimate, viz , May 28th.” —Mr Turner was appointed slipper for the meeting on terms offered. Dr. Hayes, Mr Thomson, and the secretary were authorised to draw up a programme of meetings for the season. The following were elected stewards for the next meeting at Waimate :—Mr Hamersley, slipsteward \ Mr Bond Thomson, flag-steward; Messrs D. McLean, Dr. Hayes, Dr. Mclntyre, A. Turnbull, J. Gamack, J. Paterson, Williamson, Laurie, Meikle, and Sherwin.
