William Maddams, alias Mannering, was charged with obtaining £3 10s by means of a valueless cheque from George Collier. After hearing the evidence the Resident Magistrate sentenced the prisoner to three months’ imprisonment with hard labor. Bubgxaey. —The same prisoner was committed for trial for breaking into a dwelling and stealing therefrom a number of articles, the property of John Yeak and John Wm. Cook.
