The s. s Kotorua, from North and Sydney’ arrived this forenoon, to sail south and to Melbourne ; the Wanaka arrived from Dunedin and proceeds north, and the Tni, from Kaikoraa, returning thither tc-nisht. _ The Padishah sa-’ed this morning for London. Messrs P. Cunningham and Co. expect the s.s. Kan gatira to-merrow from Wellington, whither she returns, proceeding' North as far as Onehunga, vii way ports. The s.s. Grafton, Captain John'-on, arrived on Saturday at 8.30 p.ra. from Wellington. Since she was last hero the steamer has been subjected to a thorough overhaul, her old engines and machinery taken out, and replaced by entirely now work. She would leave late last night for Wellington and ports of the West Coast. For Melbourne, via Dunedin and Bluff the U.S.S. Co.’s steamer Eotorna loaves to-day, and the s.s. Wanaka for Wellington and Northern ports. The ship British Empire finished her loading yesterday, and cleared at the Customs with about 2000 tons of wheat for Cork or Falmouth, for orders. The ship was towed from the wharf in the forenoon, drawing 20ft. llin., but lost the top of the tide, having to take some cargo iu at the last moment. She was moored to the buoy at the entrance, whence it was expected she would leave last night, and tow to sea early this morning. The ship Padishah was towed to the stream yesterday forenoon for London, whither she sails early this morning. The-ships British Empire and Padishah, to sail to-day for homo, make a total of twentyone grain-laden ships cleared at this port foreign since March 2nd. The Union Company’s s.s. Maori, Captom Berniche, arrived yesterday at 11.20, due from Dunedin, and sailed for Nelson at 4 p.m. Messrs Caff and Graham announces the brigantine Annie Hill, for Greymcratb, commencing to load to-morrow. The next trip of the s.s. Southern Cross from here, on her usual trip North, is advertised for Friday next. POET OF SUMNER. Arrived —April 19.
