HEATHCOTE PARISH MEETING.
The annual meeting of parishioners was held in St. John’s Church, Wonlston, on Friday evening last, the Rev. C. J. Merton, incumbent of the parish, presiding. After an address from tho chairman, Mr Wollstein, churchwarden, read tho annual report and statement of accounts, showing receipls £453 Is s id, expenditure £lll 5s 6d, leaving a credit balance of £4l 15s Hid. The report and accounts were received and adopted. Tho incumbent nominated Mr J. W. Bavis as his churchwarden, and the meeting elected tho following gentlemen as vestrymen:—Rev. O. Wilks, Messrs E Garland, H. A. Bamt'ord, G. Bennington, W. Thorne, F. Sindford, E. Stamford, Watters, J. O. Analiss, T. Yoik. Mr Wollstoiu was elected auditor. Tho advisability of making all the seats in the church free was discussed. It was decided to leave tho matter in the hands of the vestry. Votes of thanks were passed to the Bean of Christchurch and other clergy who had assisted tho incumbent during the year, to the lay reader, organist, choir, and Sunday-cohool teachers, and to the ladies who bad worked so well to make tho bazaar a success. The mooting then ended.
