Mails close at tho Chief Post Office for tho following places (subject to tho nocesßary alterations) as under: — TUESDAY, APRIL 20. For Northern ports, per Wanaka, at 1.50 p.m. ; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Otago and Australia, per Sotorua, at 1.50 p.m. ; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m. ; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. WEDNESDAY, APRIL 21. For Australian Colonies, per express train (to connect with s.s. Rotorna at Port Chalmers), at 7.30 p.m. THURSDAY, APRIL 20. For Chatham Islands, per Island Lily. The next mail for tho United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on April 24th, and will be due in London on Juno Bth. The noxt mail for tho United Kingdom, via Brindisi, will be closed at Christchurch on May 6th, and will bo due in London on June 2Cth. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
