ACADEMY OF MUSIC.
Miss Adelaide Bowricg took her benefit last night at the Academy of Music, when there was an excellent house. The piece seleoted was " East Lynne,' which rarely fails to draw an audience. Miss Bowring played the dual part of Lady Isabel and Madame Vine most artistically, and succeeded most thoroughly ;in enlisting the sympathies of the audience for the repentant but guilty wife. The scene with the child was powerfully acted, and throughout Miss Bowring achieved a decided success. Miss Jennie Nye made a very charming Barbara Hare, and Mies Bessie Vivian was appropriately acidulated as Misß Corney. Mr Burford played Sir Francis Lovieon carefully and well, and Mr Clinton was fairly successful as Archibald Carlyle. Mr Musgravo had hut littlo to do as Lord Motnt Severn, but played the part with his usual finish. To-night " Romoo and Juliot " is announced, Mra Hill playing Romeo and MissJArethuea May Juliot. Tho season closes on Saturday evening, the company proceeding to Wellington.
