The Omnibus Company have withdrawn their vehicles owing to the Government tramway scheme, causing great inconvenience. SOUTH AUSTRALIA. The revenue return has been published. The estimated revenue for the quarter ending March is £lB2 801, including Customs, £118,000; railway, £99 500; laud sales, £155,000. The expenditure for nine months is estimated at £2,278,5-.8, leaving £576,983 for the last quarter to make up. The amount estimated by the Treasurer as a deficit for the financial year is about £IOO,OOO. WESTERN AUSTRALIA. It is understood that the P. and O. Co.’s steamers will cease calling at Albany shortly. The agency at Albany will be abolished. [Per s.s. Rotorua, via Russell.] VICTORIA. A mooting of members of the Australian Mutual Frovident Society was strongly hostile to the Sydney proposition to abolish proxy voting. McLaren, believed to ha a well-known agitator in New Zealand and Sydney, has been sentenced to four years for housebreaking. The Associateil Banks'at a meeting resolved not to reduce the discount rate. Ihe Banks agreed to advance the Harbor Trust £50,000 to carry on the Yarra improvements. NEW SOUTH WALES. Sir H. Parkes and Mr Fawcett, ex AgentGeneral. have been nominated for the vacancy in the University Senate The former had the show of hands. A pail was demanded, and the returns to hand show that Mr Fawcett is almost certain to be elected. Mr Simpson, M .P., has presented ISO guineas, damages recovered in the recant assault case, to the Sydney Infirmary. QUEENSLAND. The revenue returns for the quarter have been published, showing a total of £359,797, being an increase on the corresponding quarter of £3O 971. ho laud revenue increased £30,000.
