[reuter’s telegrams.] BRISBANE, April 32. Gold Prospecting News. Mr. Lang, prospector, reports having discovered a splendid looking auriferous country at Softon river, Carpentaria. Mr. Jack, Government geologist, has prospected Capo York unsuccessfully.
Ho was speared through the neck by the natives while they were attacking the camp; biit has now quite recovered from the effects b£ the wound.
Sugar. The sugar market is dull.
