The total reserve in notes and bullion in the Bank of England is £15,875,000. The wool market is strong. The arrivals to date for the nest auctions amount to 280,000 bales. There is a fair demand for most descriptions of hides. Liberal Gains. The elections are now nearly concluded, and the Liberal gains amount to eightyseven. ST. PETERSBURG, April 8. Russia and ChinaNotwithstanding that a denial is given to the aggression of the Chinese, who were reported to have crossed the Amoor, orders have been given to dispatch, five more Russian cruisers to China, and the opinion is prevalent that in the case of war being declared Russia would proceed with naval operations, besides taking active measures to prosecute the war on land.
