MAGISTERIAL.
At the Rangiora, Resident Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, before C. Whitofoord, Esq., R.M., J. Boyce, Esq., and his Worship the Mayor, P. Penticost, for assaulting J. Milne, was fined 20s, and costs 395. John Scott was charged with deserting his wife and family. Ordered to pay 20s per week. Judgment was given for plaintiffs in the following cases; —Blackett v Ronan, £39 17s 7d ; distress warrant ordered to issue. Longo v Reilloy, £2O 6s; J. Johnston v R. Hawthorne, £il 8s 4i ; Smith v E. Williams, £1 14s ; Clark v Houehton, £44s ; 8. Green v J. Shaw, 2s 61 ; H. Banning v D. Banks, claim £2 5s ; judgment for defendant. Orothers v Spriggs, claim £4 Xls ; £2 12s was paid into Court Judgment for balance and costs. The only business transacted in the Christchurch Res;dent Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday morning was the transfer of the license of the Terminus Hotel from William Muff to Cecil Louisson.
