MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under: — WEDNESDAY, APRIL 7. For the United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, Point de Galle, India, Aden, Mauritius, Egypt, Natal, Capo of Good Hope, Suez, Mediterranean Ports via Brindisi (for correspondence specially addressed for this route only), Australian Colonies, Ac., per Ringarooma, from Port Chalmers, as follows : Ordinary letters, at 7 a.m. Books and newspapers, at 6 a.m. Money orders, at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6th. Registered letters, at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6th. Late fee letters may be posted in the travelling post-office attached to the express train leaving Christchurch on April 7th, at 8.40 a.m. The British portion of this mail will be due in Loudon on May 27th. Note —The Brindisi rate of postage is 8d per half-ounce. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on April 24th, and will be due in London on Juno Bth. On and after April 15th the Post-office at Waikari will be open as a money order and Savings Bank office. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
