Mails close at the <:.hief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under: — THURSDAY, APRIL 1. For Chatham Islands, per Omaha, at 7.30 a.m.; guard's van, 9 am. train. For Akaroa and Ctago, per Taiaroa, at 11.25 a.m.; late foe letters, 11.35 a.m.; guard's van 12.10 p.m. train. For Northern ports, per Rotomahana, at 3.15 p.m.: late fee letters, 3.25 p.m.; guard's van, 3.55 p m. train. MONDAY, APRIL 5. For Otago and Australia, per Ringarooma. The next mail for tho United Kingdom, via Brindisi, will be closed at Christchurch on April 6th, and will be due in London on May 27th. Tho next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on April 24th, and will be due in London on June Bth. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
