MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : SATURDAY, MARCH 27. For the United Kingdom, Continents of Europe and America, Westlndies, China, Japan, Ac. (via San Francisco), Sandwich Islands, New Sonth Wales and Queensland, Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Penguin, as follows : Ordinary letters, at 5.30 p.m. Late fee letters, at 6 p.m. Guard's van, 7.20 p.m. train. Books and newspapers, at 4.30 p.m. Registered letters, at 4 p.m. Money orders, at 4 p.m. This mail will be due in London on May 11th. For Kaikoura, per Tui, at 6 p.m. TUESDAY, MARCH 30. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Te Anau, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi, will be closed at Christchurch on April 6th, and will be due in London on May 27th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postm'^ter.
