CORRESPONDENCE.
To the Jtditor of the Glole. Sib, —Please allow me to correct a statement in your leader of Tuesday last. It is there said that " The present Church of England Cemetery is novr full to overflowing, and no further extension of land can be obtained." On the contrary, the Cemetery Board has only just taken in one acre for burial purposes, and has fifteen (15) more to take in if required. By inserting the above you will oblige, Yours, &c, ■ T. M. GEE, Secretary Church Fngland Cemetery Board, Ohristchurch. Christchurch, 25th March, 1880.
[lt appears that we were in error with regard to no extension of land being obtainable on the present cemetery site. Still the main point cf the article referred to remains untouched. That point was that the position of affairs has altered since the cemetery was opened; that the cemetery is now situated in a thickly-populated locality, and, the Board having a new site available out of town, it is desirable that they should exert themselves in the matter of rendering it available for use,— Ed. Giobb.]
