MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under: — THUESDAT, MAECH 25. For Akaroa and Otago, per Wellington, at 4.20 p.m.; late fee letters, 4,35 p.m.; guard’s van, 5.25 p.m. train. For Northern Ports of New Zealand and Australian Colonies, per Eotorua, at 8 p.m. SATUEDAY, MAECH 27. For United Kingdom, Continent of Europe and America, China, Japan, West Indies (via San Francisco), Sandwich Islands, Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Penguin, as follows : Ordinary letters, 5.30 p.m. Late fee letters, 6 p.m. Guard’s van, 7.20 p.m. train. Books and newspapers, 4.30 p.m. Eegistered letters, 4 p.m. Money orders, 4 p.m. This mail will be due in London on May 11th. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi, will be closed at Christchurch on April Cth, and will be due in London on May 27th. NOTICE. Friday, 26th instant (Good Friday), being a Post-Offije holiday, all branches of this office will be closed. A delivery will take place at the counter on Thursday night, between 8.30 and 10, when correspondence usually delivered by letter carriers may be obtained.
