The Customs duties collected at Christchurch on Friday, March 19th, were as follows : Spirits, £l9B 13s 4d; tobacco, .£172 14a 6d; cigars, £343 Is ; wine, £G 7s ; tea, £2B 16s lOd; sugar, £335 16s 9d; goods by weight, £2l4a lOd ; ad valorem, £7113s 4d; total, £559 17s 7d. The collections on March 20th were Spirits, £49 9s lid ; tobacco, £172 14s 6d; cigars, £4l 3s 63 ; wine, £B3 Is 8d; goods by weight, £10; ad valorem, £l6 10s; other duties, £s|; total, £377 19s 7d. AUCPIONEER'S REPORT. Messrs Ford, Bell, & Co. report as follows :—We submitted at auction on Monday various town, suburban, and outlying properties. The biddings were languid, and several properties were passed in at quite moderate reserves. We sold as follows :—Less than one-eighth acre, Hazeldean road, with four-roomed cottage, £235 ; two hick sections at Sumner, £65 each ; two other lots were disposed of at £6O each. Several properties passed in are likely to be disposed of privately at or near the reserved price.
