Sad Accident. On Sunday morning, the youngest child of Mr O’Connor, District Engineer, fell into some boiling water and was very badly injured. The child died this morning from the effects. Mr O'Connor was to have left by the Christchurch coach for Dunedin tomorrow, but has had to postpone his departure till next Friday in consequence. Judge Williams. Judge Williams leaves by the Christchurch coach to-morrow morning. Quite at Home. Mr Gisborne, M.H.R., has returned to Ross after paying the Okarito district a visit. Loading for England. The first vessel to load direct for home is expected to arrive to-morrow. DUNEDIN, March 22. The Cumberland street Tragedy. At the City Police Court this morning, Robert Butler, alias Donnelly, alias Lae, alias Medway, was charged! with the murder of the Dewar family. Several witnesses were examined, and the prisoner was remanded till Monday. He cross-examined the witnesses at considerable length. Yesterday a scarf and bat belonging to Butler were found. It has transpired that on Tuesday and Wednesday previous to the murder Butler lodged at Ravensbourne in the same house as the local policeman, and that while there he went under the name of Robert Love. OAMARU, March 22. Export of Wheat. The exports of wheat for last week were 2021 sacks.
