[eeijtee’s telegrams.] WASHINGTON, March 20. The Chinese in America. The committee appointed by Congress to inquire into the question of Chinese immigration, has issued its report. The complete exclusion of the Chinese from the United States is strongly recommended by the committee. LONDON, March 19. Wheat Afloat. The total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is 1,810,000 quarters. New Zealand Loans. Now Zealand 5 per cent., 10.40 scrip, loan, 104|-. The Dissolution. The House of Commons has adjourned until Wednesday next, when the dissolution will take place. The Albanian Question. Informationwhas been received of the seizure of two Italian vessels by an Austrian man-of-war. The former were conveying arms and ammunition to the Albanians, and the Austrian commander, upon receiving information of their mission, seized the Italian vessels as smugglers.
LONDON, March 20. New Zealand loans. The Four and a-half Per Cent. New Zealand Loan is at 96, The Mails. The homeward mails via Suez were delivered in London yesterday. The University Boat RaceThe Oxford and Cambridge boat race, which was to have taken place to-day, could not he rowed owing to a heavy fog on the river. The contest will como off on Monday. March 22. The University boat race was rowed to-day, and was won by tho Oxford crew. Mr Parnell. Mr Parnell has reached Queenstown, Ireland, frosa America. The Morning Post on Victorian Affairs. Tho “ Morning Post ” in a leading article in to-day’s issue, on tho subject of tho general elections and the change of Ministry in Victoria, congratulates the colony on the result of the former, and hails tho advent of Mr Service as a preludo to the return of prosperity in Victoria. CALCUTTA, March 22. Afghan NewsLatest news from Afghanistan stale that tho chiefs at Ghuzai have offered to submit to the British commander, and are willing to negotiate for peace. ConsolsConsols have advanced 1, and are now quoted at 98J-. The MarketsAdelaide wheat, 595; New Zealand wheat, 47s 9d. Market quiet. Australian tallow, best beef, 35s to 365; best mutton, 375.
