MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the C hief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under: — MONDAY, MARCH 22. For Kaikoura, per ’lui, at 4.20 p.m.; late fee letters, 4.35 p.m. ; guard’s van, 5.25 p.m. train. TUESDAY, MARCH 23. For Northern ports, per Waitaki. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Tararua, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m. ; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. The next mail for tho United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on March 27th, and will be due in London on May 11th. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi, will be closed at Christchurch on April 6th, and will be due in London on May 27th. SYDNEY J. DICK. Chief Postmaster.
