Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under: — SATUBDAY, MARCH 20. For Otaso. per Penguin, at 11.25 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.35 a.m.; guard's van, 12.10 p.m. train. For Kaikonra, per Tui, at 4.20 p.m.; late fee letters, 4.35 p.m.; guard's van, 5.25 p.m. train. For Northern ports, por Hawea, at 6 p m. The gnard's van must not be used for this mail. TUESDAY, MARCH 23. For Otigo and Australian Colonies, per Tararna, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m. ; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on M-irch 27th, and will be due in London on May 11th. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi, will be closed at Christchurch on April 6th, and will be due in London on May 27th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
