The Pelham, fiaptain Duncan, left Mauritius for Sydney on January 29th, ten daya before the Jasper for here. The Union Company's steamship le 4?au arrived yesterday at 9 30. a.m. from Port Ohalmera, after being repaired there in the craving dock. A complete set of new Hades, light inches thicker at the butt than the former ones, were fitted to her propeller, and are expectedto gi*e the vessel greater speed. ±ne Te Anau sailed at 5 p.m. for Wellington and Northern ports. _ . _ The New Zealand Shipping Company yesterday cleared another of their charter** ships, the Euterpe, for London. The ewwts by her conaist altogether of grain, valued at ab-mt> £12,000. The vessel was the first which has loaded a t the Gladstone Pier extension, and. some little difficulty was experienced in towing her from the pier, drawing as she wai 21 feet six inches of water, at a time when the tides, are unusually poor. The tug was to tow her into the stream yesterday morning, but the tide was lost before the balance of the grain for her was got on board. The Enterpe will, however, probably sail to day. THE JASPEE. The JasDer completed another good round voyage to the Mauritius yesterday, coming into such condition as fully maintains the good name of the owner's vessels whoss houseflag she fiies. She was brought direct in to a berth at one of the jettieß. and commenced to land her cargo of sugar. It consists in all of 432 tons, about 250 tons of which is for Dunedin, whither, it is expected, she will sail to day. The vessel received first-rate despatch at Port Louis, her stay there being but ten days, during Tvhich she discharged a full cargo of New Zealand produce and loaded her present cargo. Captain Stannard reporta-Le't Dnnedin November 26th, and had moderate and light winds to Cape Leuwin on December 21st; thence baffling winds, bat no B.E. trades at all worth mentioning. Anchored off Port Louis January 21st; discharged and loaded, and left on the 31st; passed St. Paul's on February 14th, after -very bad weather; on February 23rd crosPed Cape Leuwin meridian in 45 30 S., and thence to Tasmania extremely light winds, the ship doing nothing. Fell in there with a fresh westerly wind and made the Pnarea with it on the 13th ; at 4 p.m. on that date passed close to a dead whale, its position being about ten miles S.R of the Snares. Along the coast had light winds. The Jasper's cargo is consigned to UlrU w. Turner, the owner and agent of the vessel.
