MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : FRIDAY, MARCH 19. For Akaroa and Ofcago, per Waitaki, at 1.50 p.m. ; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. SATURDAY, MARCH 20. For Otago, per Penguin. For Noithern ports, per Hawea. TUESDAY, MARCH 23. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Tararua, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m. ; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on March 27th, and will be due in London on May 11th. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi, will be closed at_ Christchurch on April 6th, and will be due in London on May 27th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
