CO-OPERATIVE LAND COMPANY.
A general meeting of shareholders of the Co-operative Land Company took place at the sideroom of the Oddfellows’ Hall, Lichfield street, on Saturday night, March 12th, Mr W. O. Williams in the chair. The chairman stated that the object of the meeting was to find out as near as possible the number of settlors going, so as to give the delegates an idea of what amount of land would be required, &o. It was resolved that the secretary should send a telegram to the Hon. John Hall, Premier of New Zealand, and that the delegates do not proceed North until an answer be rereived from the Premier. It was resolved that the company’s books be left open at present, and that all persons wishing to become shareholders may do so by paying 7s 6d each, and if any of the old members who failed to put in an appearance on Saturday night last should wish to remain shareholders they may do so by paying 5s each. A vote of thanks to the chairman closed the meeting.
