SUPREME COURT.

His Honor Mr. Justice Johnston sat in Chambers on March 12th. An application for further time to plead in the case Grinstead and another v M'Emery, stood over till next sitting day. The same order was made in Qrinstead v Parker. In the case National Bank v Mcintosh, Mr GHarper appeared on behalf of the plaintiff, to show cause why a portion of the replication should not be struck out Mr Stringer appeared for the defendants in support of the summons. After argument his Honor dismissed the summons with costs. In the case Bhodes and another v Wadsworth, Mr G. Harper applied for an attachment of property of the debtor under the Absent Debtors Act. A writ of foreign attachment had been served on Hugh Brosnahan, commanding him. to hold all the property in hia hands belonging to the defendant. His Honor made an order aa prayed. In the case, Creditors* Trustees of M. Anderson v. J. Anderson and others, it was agreed by consent that further rime to plead be given to the defendant, on putting in certified plea and paying costs. Probate was granted to the widow and executrix of Frederick Thorne, deceased. On the application of Mr G. Harper, letters of administration were granted to the widow of Daniel Dennihy, deceased. Mr Harper also applied for an_ order granting probate to 'John Dixie and Henry Balths as executors according to the tenor of the will of Annie Jane Hatton, deceased. Orders of discharge were granted in the cases of P. W. Foley and George Clarke. In the case of Thos. Arnold, deceased, letters of administration were granted to the widow. In Quinn and another v Coll, the rule «i« for an injunction was discharged with costs. On the application of Mr Slater, John Armitage was appointed guardian of F. J. and F. T. Charlesworth, infants. In the case of George Day, deceased, probate was granted to J. G. Hawkes and G. Turner as executors, and in that of Agnes Hay, deceased, to James T. C). and W. Hay, aa executors. The trial of the libel action, Bracken t Darrell, was fixed for April 12th, at Christchurch, by special jury. Orders for probate were granted in the cases of W. Tigers, doceased ;W. B. Smith, deceased; B. Westenra, deceased; J. O. Fassnidge, deceased; and Christopher Beynoldp, deceased. Orders of discharge were granted in the cases of Charles H. Parker and C. E. D. Malthusv
