An Expensive SlanderAn action for £IO,OOO damages for slander, brought by the Hon. J. Shepherd, M.L.A. against Mr J. R. Dibbs, merchant, for uttering an alleged slander charging plaintiff with immoral conduct with Mrs J. R. Dibbs, for whom he was acting as solicitor in a suit in the Divorce Court, has resulted in a verdict for the plaintiff, with £2OOO damages.
