She sailed for Port Chalmers at at 5.30 p.m. _ _ , . , The discharging of ballast from the ships at the Gladstone Pier into the railway trucks is interfering very much with the expeditious working of cargoes at that wharf. As the busy shipping season opens out it is made apparent that, in order to convey the grain to the port of Bhipment. the whole of the rolling stock at the command of the railway department will be fully employed, and the new departure made m respect to the discharging of ballast into the waggons will just at this time be found to be most inconvenient. It seems that there are at present two pressing demands being made for the tracks which come to the port loaded with grain. The moment they are discharged they are required at the Christchurch Station for reloading, whilst the ships discharging have an urgent demand for them for their inward cargoes.' SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. Port Chalmers, March 10. Arrived —Ringarooma, from Bluff: Rotorua, from Lyttelton. _
