MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the C hief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under:— TUESDAY, MARCH 9. Per Otago, per Rotorua, at 1.50 p.m. ; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m. ; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m train. For Northern ports of New Zealand, per Wellington, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. THURSDAY. MARCH 11. For the United Kingdom, Continent of Europe (via Brindisi), Mediterranean Ports, Africa, the East, Australian Colonies, &0., per express train (to connect with s.s. Rotorua at Port Chalmers) as follows : Ordinary letters, 7 a.m. Books and newspapers, at 6 a.m. Money orders, at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10 th. Registered letters, at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10th. Late fee letters may be posted in the travelling post-office attached to the express train leaving Christchurch on Thursday, March 11th, at 8 40 a.m. This mail will be due in London on April 29th. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on March 27tb, and will be due in London on May 11th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
