Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under: — FRIDAY, MARCH 5. For Northern ports of New Zealand and Australian colonies (via Sydney), per Wakatipn, at 4.20 p.m. ; late fee letters, 4.35 p.m. ; guard’s van, 5.25 p.m. train. SATURDAY, MARCH 6. For Otago, per Wanaka, For Northern ports, per Penguin. TUESDAY, MARCH 9. For Otago and Anstralian Colonies, per Rotorua. The next mail for the United Kingdom via Brindisi will be closed at Christchurch on March 11th, and will be duo in London on April 29th. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will b« closed at Christchurch on March 27th, and will be due in London on May 11th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
