ASHBURTON R.M. COURT.

John O’Brien was charged, on remand, with the larceny of a horse, saddle and bridle from S. Brown, at the R.M. Court, Ashburton, on Tuesday. The horse was stolen from the Royal Hotel, Ashburton, and sold for £lB to Mr R. Little, of the Hinds Hotel. The evidence was very conclusive, and prisoner was fully committed for trial, bail being allowed, himself in £2OO and two sureties of £IOO each. Charles Smithel and J. Quinton were fined £5 each for furious riding, Mr Guinness, the R.M., remarking that this offence was a most serious one in a town. For neglect in registering the births of children two persons were fined 5s •aoh.
