To Anan arrived this morning, to sail South this afternoon. The s.s. Grafton is adverlissd to sail for Wellington. Nelson, and West Coast on Wednesday next. THE EDITH MAY. The fcarquoutine Edith May, Captain J. Dobson, arrived yesterday morning from Port Louis, Mauritius, with 350 tons of sugar, for Messrs Sclanders, Fletcher and Co. She left there on January 17th, and had moderate winds to taking the westerlies, which were carried to the Solinders, sighted yesterday week, February 23rd, and through Foveanx Straits, sinne_ which calms and foggy weather were experienced. Captain Dobson reports being in company with a large iron barque for three days up to Saturday last. She appeared to be about half loaded, and bound, as he thought, to Lyttelton. It is the first visit of the Edith May to this port. She is a smart little vessel of 212 tons register, built in Sydney four years since for her owner, Mr J. Taylor, of that city, and is classed A 1 at Lloyds. Captain Dobson took charge of her at Sydney, sailing from there to the port whence she arrived yesterday, and he speaks flatteringly of her sailing qualities. He is not unacquaint; d with Lyttelton, having vi'ited hero some years since in the barque Fleur d’Maurice. He reports cno vessel, the barque Brisbane, loading at Port Louis, for Dunedin and Nelson, when he left, to follow him in abont a week’s time. The Edith May was entered at the Customs by Messrs Cuff' and Graham yesterday. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. Auckland. March ?. Arrived —Australia. She left Sydney at 3.45 n.m. on the 26th, had fresh head winds with clear weather till March Ist. She has twentyfour passengers for New Zealand and sixtythree in transit for San Francisco. Arrived—At Newcastle, Albion, from Hokitika ; Examiner, from Lyttelton. Poet Chalmees, March 2. Arrived —Arawata, from Bluff; Maori, from West Coast. Blupp, March 1. The Arawala left Sandridge on the 25th at 5.30 p.m., and experienced light variable winds and fine weather for first two days, thence fresh and strong head winds. Made the Solandors on the Ist March at 5.30 a m , and arrived at the Bluff at 12.30 p.m. She sailed at 5 p.m. for Dunedin. Passengers for Lyttelton— Mrs Hooper and two children, Mrs and Miss Walker, Mrs Killick, Mr Lyde, Mr and Mrs Lewis and family, and two steerage; for Wellington—Master Bradley, Mr Skeoch, and twelve ateerago ; for Napier—Mr Scmby ; for Auckland —Mr auil M*a Lann and family, Mr and Mrs Coni and and family, Messrs Griffiths, Lowe, McFarlane, and two steerage.
