Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : SATURDAY, FEB. 28. For Akaroa and Otago, per Penguin, at 11.25 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.35 a.m.; guard's van, 12.10 p.m. train. For United Kingdom, Continent of Europe and America,' China, Japan, West Indies (via San Francisco), Sandwich Islands, Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Hawea, as follows: — leu T~ I ~**Tr. &&£S>-. Books and newspapers, 4.30 p.m. Registered letters, 4.30 p.m. Money orders, 4 p.m. Guard's van, 7.20 p.m. train. This mail will be due in London on April 13th. WEDNESDAY, MAKCH 3. For Australian Colonies, per Express train, at 7.30 a.m. (to connect with s.s. Te Anau at Fort Chalmers). The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi, will be closed at Christohurch on March 11th, and will be due in London on April 29th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
