[Br Telegraph.] HaWEEi, February 26. The Commissioners got through the bulk of the Native witnesses yesterday afternoon, and the?e have returned to their homeß. So far as the evidence has gone the grievances complained of by the Natives are not very great, and can be dealt with in a manner likely to satisfy all patties. Mskora, a Wellington Hative, came all tho way here and triad to delude the Commissioners into recognising a claim he put in for land, on the ground that he had not fought againßt us during the war ; but upon Major Brown showing that Makora had already received 400 acres from the Compensation Court on the sine grounds, Makora subsided and slunk away. Tho Commissioners expect to complete their labsra here to-day or to-morrow, and on Saturday morning proceed to New Plymouth. Hone Pekua has been of considerable assistance to the Commissioners in dealing with the Natives. WELLINGTON, February 26. An occasional correspondent at Hawera telegraphs to the "Post" to-night as follows :—The Commission is still hearing claims and disputes hore as to the reserves on this side of the river. Hone Pihama, Pope Heke, and Warua are the chief spokesmen. The Natives on this side of the river seem well content with the dealings of the Government.
