MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the C hief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under; — FRIDAY, FEB. 27. For Northern Ports, per Southern Cross, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m. ; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. SATURDAY, FEB. 28. For United Kingdom, Continent of Europe and America,' China, Japan, West Indies (via San Francisco), Sandwich Islands, Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Hawea, as follows: Ordinary letters, 5.30 p.m. Late fee letters, 6 p.m. Books and newspapers, 4.30 p.m. Registered letters, 4.30 p.m. Money orders, 4 p.m. Guard’s van, 7.20 p.m. train. This mail will be due in London on April 13th. WEDNESDAY, MARCH 3. For Australian Colonies, per Express train, at 7.30 am. (to connect with s.s. Te Anan at Port Chalmers). The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi, will be closed at Christchurch on March 11th, and will be due in London on April 29th. SYDNEY J. DICK. Chief Postmaster.
