THE VOLUNTEER REVIEW,
The following circular has been issued to the officers’ commanding corps of Volunteers likely to visit Christchurch on the occasion of the forthcoming Easter review :—“ Christchurch, February 20th, ISBO. Review committee have secured ample accommodation for 1700 men. Immigration barracks consist mostly of rooms for sleeping from four to fourteen men in each, the whole to accommodate one thousand men, if required. The place is scrupulously clean. Bedding will be supplied by an upholsterer. Meals by an experienced hotelkeeper. Canteen will be held in barracks. The remaining billets will be among the hotels in town. If in preference to this arrangement you elect to go under canvas, at your own expense, bringing your own camp equipage, as there is none available here, be good enough, please, to reply by telegram or return post, filling up and returning the form sent by A.Q.M.G., with his memo. No. 1, February 4th, 1880. —J. G. Warner, captain, secretary review committee.”
