SICKNESS ON BOARD. As the Union Company's steamer Wanaka ■was coming into port this morning from_ Dunedin, Bhe spoke the ship Westland, bound in from Plymouth off Leßon'a Bay, eighty-five day 3 out. The Westland wished to be towed in, but as the steamer had no suitable hawser aboard, signals were made that the latter would report her. Owing to the hazy weather off the Heads, signals to toe pilot station could not be made out from the ship. Captain McGillivray, of the steamer, however, lost no time in reporting her. Captain Wood, of the Westland, signalled "Measles and scarlatina on board: two deaths of children." Upon arrival of the Wanaka, the Health and Immigration Officers were communicated with by the Harbour Master. Captain McGillivray states that he could hear the cheers from the ship aa he passed her, and as the two deaths of children were the only ones reported, it is hoped that there have been no others. The Westland is one of Messrs. Shaw, Savill and Co 'a ships, Messrs. Edwards, Bennett and Co. being the local agents.
