She is one of the fleet of vessels recently chartered by the New Zealand Shipping Company for the grain season, and will load here for the United Kingdom. The vessel, though from a Northern port, approached the harbor from tbo_ Southward, and was so signalled. This peculiarity, doubtless, became the premises for the conclusion and report that it was the Waimste, due from London, and the circumstance of the official number not being signalled nntil after the ship had anchored was both embarrassing and inconvenient to the public.
