THE LONG-WOOD.
The Bivcrton correspondent of the “ Southland N< ws” writes: “Longwood shares are looking up, and prices have been obtained for shares in Printz's and the Duffer Company’s claims. At Printz’s and the Geelong Company’s they are busily engaged in erecting the machinery, which is expected to be ready for work in about two months. At the Duffer Company’s claim they are putting in a tunnel, and it is expected that the reef will be struck in about a week. This claim is adjoining Print z’s, and is supposed to be in the direct line of reef. The present shareholders are so confident of success that they have refused soma verytempting offers for an interest in the claim. Work is being actively carried on in the Prince of Wales and Fossicker Companies' ground, and great things are expected. It is anticipated that the first crushing from Printz’s will be something enormous. Should this turn out to be the case, we may look forward to a rush to the Longwood onceJuors,”
