MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the C hief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under: — SATURDAY, FEB. 14. For Akaroa and Otago, per Wanaka, at 11.25 a.m. ; late fee letters, 11.35 a.m.; guard’s van, 12.10 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Penguin, at 6 p.m._; The guard’s van must not to be used for this mail. TUESDAY, FEB. 17. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Eingarooma. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on February 28th, and will bo due in London on April 13th. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi, will be closed at Christchurch on March 11th, and will be due in London on April 39th.
