Mails close at the ■ hief Pist Office for the following places (subject to tha necessary alterations) as under: — THtJBSDAY, PRB. 12.
For the United Kingdom, viz Suez, Continent of Europe, Mediterranem Parts, Africa, the East, Australian Colonies, &c., at 7 a.m. Books and newspapers, at 6 £0 a.m. Money orders, at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11th. Begistered letters, at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, February lltb. Late fee letters for this mail may be posted in the travelling post-office attached to the express train leaving Christchurch at 8.40 a.m. on Thursday, February 12th. This mail will be due in London on April Ist. For Northern ports of New Zealand and Australian colonies, via Sydney, per Botorna, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Otago, per Wellington, at 1.50 p.m. ; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.;; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train.
The next mail for tho United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on February 28th, and will be due in London on April 13th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
