MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under: — WEDNESDAY, FEB. 11. For Northern Ports, per Southern Cross, at 11.23 n.m.; late fee letters, 11.35 a.m.; guard’s ran, 12.10 p.m. train. For Kaikoura, per Hnia, nt 4.20 p.m.; late fee letters, 4.35 p.m.; guard’s van, 5.25 p.m. train. THURSDAY, FEB. 12. For the United Kingdom, via Suez, Continent of Europe, Mediterranean Porta, Africa, the East, Australian Colonies, &c., at 7 a.m. Books and newspapers, at 6.30 a.m. Money orders, at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11th. Registered letters, at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11th. Late fee letters for this mail may bo posted in the travelling po-t-office attached to the express train leaving Christchurch at 8.40 a.m. on Thursday, February 12th. This mail will be due in London on April Ist. For Northern ports of Now Zealand and Australian colonies, via Sydney, per Rotorua, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; guard’* van, 2.40 p.m. train. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on February 28th, and will be due in London on April 13th, SYDNEY J. DICK. Chief Postmaster.
