WAIMAKARIRI BOARD OF CONSERVATORS.

Tuesday, Febbuaky 10. A meeting of the members of the South Waimakariri Board of Conservators was held at noon. Present —Messrs R. J. S. Harman (chairman), A Duncan, J. L. Tosswill, and the Mayor of Christchurch. The Chairman said that he had to the Government with reference to the auditing of the accounts of the Board, and had received a reply that Mr Ollivier would ha mstructed to audit the accounts. Mr Ollivier was absent from town, but would return about the end of the week, when he would get the accounts duly audited. He proposed to ask the auditor to inspect the sinking fund securities which were in the hands of the Mayor and himself. All the funds were invested except a small balance, which was in the Post Office Savings Bank. Mr Duncan moved—“ That the accounts now submitted be adopted and forwarded to the Government district auditor for audit,” Mr Tosswill seconded the motion, which was agreed to. The accounts as submitted were as follows :

Mr Tosswill brought under the notice of the Board the delay which had occurred in the issue of Crown grants as to the reserves of the Board. The Chairman wcs requested to write to the Chief Surveyor and urge upon him the necessity of surveying the reserves of the Board at the earliest possible date. Several accounts were passed for payment. The Board then adjourned.
