Mails close at the C hief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under: — SATURDAY, FEB. 7.
For Northern Ports, per Hawea, at 8 p.m. The guard’s van must not to bo used for this moil. MONDAY, FEB. 9. For Northern Ports, per Wanganui, at 1.50 p.m. ; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Kaikoura, per Jane Douglas, at 3.15 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.25 p.m.; guard’s van, 3.55 p.m. train. TUESDAY, FEB. 10. For Northern Ports, per Waitaki. For Otago, per Arawata.
The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Suez, will be closed at Christchurch on February 12th, and will be due in London on April Ist. SYDNEY J. DICK. Chief Postmaster.
