MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under: — SATUBDAY, FEB. 7. For Akaroa and Otago, per Penguin, at 11.25 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.35 a.m. ; guard’s van, 12.10 p.m, train. For Northern Porta, per' Hawea, at 7.30 pm. The guard’s van must not to be used for this mail. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Suez, will be closed at Christchurch on February 12th, and will be due in London on April Ist. SYDNEY J.
