The Euterpe is to load for home under charter to the New Zealand Shipping Company. The Union Company’s s.s. Eingarooma, Capt. Chatfield, arrived at 10 a.m. yesterday from Melbourne and the Southern ports. She sailed for Wellington at 6 p.m. The Union Company’s s.s. Waitaki, Captain Edio, arrived from Picton, Nelson, and Wellington at 10 a.m. yesterday, and left for Port Chalmers at 3 p.m.

The Union Company’s s.s. Wakatipu sails today for Wellington and Sydney. The schooner Kona was loading at Kaipara on the 29th nit., also the Wave of Life. The brigantine Aratapu, Captain McDonald, late of the Kate McGregor, arrived yesterday afternoon from Kaipara, with a cargo of timber. Left Kaipara on 29th ult., crossed bar with a S.E. wind, which afterwards hauled to S.S.E., and blew fresh to Farewell Spit. Then got westerly winds to Stephen’s Island, and moderate variable winds since. Was berthed at the Graving Dock jetty. The barque John Knox arrived at Sydney on the 22nd ult., the Star of India on the 22nd, and the Beils at Newcastle on the 21st.

Passengers for South—Miss Watkin, Miss Richmond, Mrs Taite, Master Watkins, Messrs South, Johns, Watson, Shark. Mr Syme of Melbourne, and Mr Bennett, of the “Sydney News,” and Mr Brett, of the “Auckland Star,” are passengers by the steamer for Wellington. Wellington, February 5. Sailed —Teiaroa, for the South. Port Chalmers, February 5. Arrived—Tauranga, from Timaru. Dunedin, February 5.

Sailed —Taracua, for Melbourne via Bluff ; Wakatipa, for Sydney via the coast. Passengers for Lyttelton—Mr and Mrs Sawtell, Miss Allot, Master Black, Mr Brines. For Wellington—Mesdames Mclntyre, Cook, and Brown. Foi Sydney—Messrs Hurry, Jones, Isaacs, Wong, Tong, Wak Took, Ah Cheung, Ah Wing, Oh Sing, and eight steerage.
