Mails close at the (. hief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under: — WEDNESDAY, FFB 4. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per express train., connecting with s.s. Tararna at Port Chalmers, at 7.30 a m. For Kaikoura, per Jane Douglas, at 3 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.30 p.m.; guard's vai 4 p.m. train. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Suez, will be closed at Christchnrch on February 12th, and will be due in London on April Ist. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
