NEW MASONIC LODGE AT LINCOLN.

This thriving district was enlivened by the arrival of some forty Masonic brethren on Wednesday last, it being the day which the Right Worthy Bro. Thompson had fixed for the dedication of a Lodge to be called the Lincoln (E C). Accompanied by the Grand Lodge officers, at half-past seven o'clock he commenced the prescribed ritual, the petition and warrant having been previously read by the acting G. Sec. The representatives of other lodges mustered in great force, comprising brethren from Chiistchurch, Lyttelton, Kaiapoi, Ashburton, Leeston, &c. The ceremony was performed in a solemn manner by the D.D.G. M., assisted by his deputy Bro. John Baylee ; Bros. Tombs, G.S.W. ; J. Fleming, A.J.W. j J. A. Bird, A. Chaplain ; E. Williams, A.G.S.; and H. Revell, G. Supt. of Works. Bro. Comerford presided at the organ, where he was assisted by two brethren wno had passed the chair. _ A Board of sixteen installed masters having been duly constituted, Bro. A. R. Fork wasr formallv placed in his chair of office. Bro. J. C. Revell, B.W. j Bro. J. W. Anderson, J.W.; Bro. F. W. East, S.D. ; Bro. W. H. Comerford, J.D.; Bro. Thomas, 1.G.; and Bro. A. Bailey, tyler, were then invested with the collars and jewels of their respective offices. The following Worshipful Masters were present: Bro. H. Hobday, St. Augustine; Bro. E. Williams, Canterbury; Bro. H. B. Allwright, Unanimity ; Bro. Ferguson, Robert Burns ; Bro. McCormick, Corinthian ; Bro. Green, Kilwinning ; Bro. Smith, Kaiapoi; Bro. McLachlan, lonic, together with P.M. Shearman, Somerset, and P.M. Hughes, Washington. Three resident gentlemen were proposed and two brethren as future members. The labors of the evening being ended at 10.30, the company adjourned to the hostelry ef Mr Slnis, where they were most hospitably entertained. The Lodge meets in the schoolroom, Lincoln, the first Wednesday before the full moon.
